What Are Mother-Baby Reforms?

Proper reformer training. Tailored to the postpartum body.

This isn’t just a break from life or a social gathering with coffee afterward. It’s a class designed to help you rebuild your strength, stability, and body control after pregnancy and childbirth—and your baby is welcome to join you.

We train on Pilates Reformers, and we train with a purpose: to help your body function, move, and perform again. At a pace that respects the fact that your body has just created a human being.

The atmosphere is relaxed and informal. The workout isn't.

What you'll be working on as part of the team

Pelvic floor

Engaging, controlling, and strengthening the muscle group that bears the most weight during pregnancy and childbirth. The foundation for everything else.

Deep abdominal muscles

Rebuilding your core—without straining a body that isn't ready. We focus on control, not crunches.

Back and Posture

A counterbalance to breastfeeding, babywearing, and sleepless nights. A strong back, an open chest, and good posture.

Stability and body control

The Reformer provides both support and resistance at the same time—the perfect tool for reconnecting with your body before putting it through a full workout.

Who can participate

The Mother/Baby Reformer is designed for:

  • Pregnant women who want to maintain their strength and prepare their bodies for childbirth
  • New mothers with babies up to 12 months old
  • Mothers who want to get back into exercise in a structured and body-conscious way

Important information about getting back into shape after giving birth:

The general recommendation is to wait 6–8 weeks after giving birth before resuming exercise. We always recommend that you consult your midwife or doctor before starting—regardless of whether the birth was easy or difficult.

On the team

Your baby is part of the experience. He or she can lie on a mat next to the reformer, stay in the baby carrier, or quietly join in along the way. There’s plenty of time to take a break, breastfeed, change a diaper, or just give a hug—and pick up where you left off when you’re ready.

We teach at a calm, steady pace. You’ll receive clear instructions. We’ll adapt the exercises for you if needed. No one is rushed, and we’re always happy to make adjustments.

Safety first.

The Reformer is a piece of exercise equipment with moving parts. This means that small fingers can get pinched. If your baby can roll over or crawl, you should be extra careful and keep a close eye on them at all times. Your baby is always your responsibility.

I love the energy it gives me after a workout, and I can already feel the difference in my flexibility and core strength.

I was skeptical at first—Pilates and bungee didn’t sound like something for an old soccer player. But after just one trial class, I was sold. The workouts are intense, challenging, and fun all at the same time. Three of my friends have started now, too.

Definitely the best Reformers class in Copenhagen. A clean and inviting space, skilled instructors, and you can really feel the difference after just a few weeks.

As a new mom, it was hard to find the time and motivation to work out. Energii made it easy—flexible class times, booking through the app, and instructors who understand that you’re not always at 100%. I’ve regained my strength and found a new sense of community to boot.

I’ve been a member for over three years now, and the quality has only gotten better. New classes, new locations, and always with a focus on quality over quantity. My friends and I have made it our regular Thursday ritual—it’s equal parts socializing and intense workout.

Bungee Fly is addictive! It's the most fun workout I've ever tried.

Energii has completely transformed my daily life. I started out with a bad back and constant tension headaches. After just two months of working out three times a week, the pain is almost gone, and I sleep like a baby. The instructors remember your name and tailor the exercises to you—that makes all the difference.

I started three months ago and I'm already hooked. It's the perfect combination of strength and flexibility.

I’ve tried many different gyms, but Energii is in a league of its own. The equipment is always in perfect condition, the classes are varied, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. My body has never felt better than it does after six months of regular Reformer training here.

A top-notch experience! A wide selection of centers and classes, yet they still provide wonderful, personalized service when you contact them by email. And excellent service when it comes to changing your membership after a mistaken purchase—thanks, Energii :)

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions you most often have about this class.

The general recommendation is 6–8 weeks after giving birth. We always recommend that you see your midwife or doctor for a checkup before you start—even if you feel ready. Every body is different, and a proper start is more important than a quick one.
Yes. The class is open to both pregnant women and new mothers. The exercises are tailored to your current fitness level.
You’re welcome to join us as soon as your midwife or doctor gives you the go-ahead to exercise (typically 6–8 weeks after giving birth). You can bring your baby along for up to 12 months.
It’s completely natural—and totally fine. You can take a break whenever you need to, tend to your baby, and hop back on the Reformer when you’re ready. The class is designed with that in mind.
In that case, you need to be especially careful. The Reformer has moving parts where small fingers can get caught. You are responsible for keeping a close eye on the entire group at all times.
No. The class is designed for both beginners and those who exercised before becoming pregnant. You’ll receive clear instructions and help finding the right level.
No. It’s real reformer training—but with a focus on what your body actually needs right now: your pelvic floor, deep core muscles, back, and posture. It’s targeted strength training, not just a break on a mat.
The Mom & Baby class is reserved for mothers and their babies. If your partner would like to work out on the Reformer, we recommend our Classic or Signature classes.
Yes—and that’s usually a natural progression. When your baby can no longer join the class, or when you feel ready for a more intense workout, you can move on to our other Reformer classes.
Yes, you’re required to wear non-slip socks and gloves for all our classes—they ensure a secure grip on the Reformer and are required for hygiene reasons. If you don’t have a set, you can purchase them at the center so you can always get started, no matter what.
Comfortable, form-fitting workout clothes are ideal—loose clothing can get caught in the Reformer’s moving parts. Remember to bring grip socks and gloves (available for purchase at the center). No special shoes are required—Reformer Pilates is done in socks.
